| Disabled Pets Most pets have the use of two eyes, Some have one or none. Most pets can hear through both ears, Some hear a little, some hear nothing at all. | |
| Most pets can eat anything and visit the vet but once a year, Some need special food, shots or medicine. Most pets go potty on a walk or in the yard, Some wear ‘hot pants’ or go on a special matt inside. Most pets walk in normal stride, Some hop along or roll in wheelchairs. Differences exist between most and some, but does it really mean that much? All pets have such great big hearts and yearn to feel love’s touch. Opening your mind, home and heart to a disabled pet will prove one thing for sure, The love and thanks you'll receive in return will touch your life like never before. -Lynne Przychodzki, 2004 | |

Pet Expo Day!
Today my foster mom and I are going to the Pet Expo as part of Diamond Dachshund Resecue of Texas. We will have information on adopting as well as fostering. DDRTX is in serious need of foster homes. There are so many dogs on the waiting list that need to come in to rescue.
Hopefully we can educate a family or two about adopting a special needs dog!

Welcome everybody!
I am Chewy Chompers Silva a deaf and blind dapple dachshund. Both of my canine parents were double dapple dachshunds. Their owner was not aware that when you breed 2 double dapples together you run the chance of the puppies coming out blind and/or deaf. In the case of my litter - there were 5 puppies - 2 were blind - I was the only puppy that was blind and deaf.
My goal is to educate both parents and children on the joy of sharing you home with a dog that has disabilities. Especially blind and deaf dogs. Remember - blind dogs see with their hearts and not their eyes!
So stay tuned........
